MediaLab requires Access97 to be installed on any machine that will be used for creating and editing experiments. Machines used only for running experiments do not need Access97. These files contained in access97.zip will allow you install the run-time version of Access97 if you don't already own it. To install the run-time version of Access97, unzip the access97.zip file, run setup.exe and follow the instructions. **Important** In order for the run time version to work with MediaLab you need to do *two things*: 1) After the installation, find the file SYSTEM.MDW. This file will be located into the directory you specify during the setup procedure. Then run a search of your hard drive to find where the installation actually placed the file MSACCESS.EXE (from the start menu, choose FIND and then search your computer for 'MSACCESS'). Make a copy of the file SYSTEM.MDW and place it in the same directory as MSACCESS.EXE. 2) When you start MediaLab, go to PREFERENCES->EDIT CURRENT PREFERENCES->FILES, and enter the directory in which MSACCESS.EXE was placed. Save the settings as DEFAULT. For some reason MediaLab sometimes can not auto-detect the location of the run-time version. Everything should work fine now.
