This page contains links to files we
are making available for FTP download. Click on the appropriate link under a file's
description to begin downloading. Some files are in a .zip format. If you don't have a
program to unzip files, or if you want to update your old unzipping utility, then visit http://www.winzip.com/download.cgi
All file sizes are approximate.
This is the read-me file that is contained in
the main MediaLab directory after installation. It has important up-to-date notes about
installation, set-up, and system requirements for MediaLab. Download this file if you
would like to take a look at it before downloading and installing MediaLab.

This is the fully functional version of
MediaLab. Download and run the set up program. Afterwards, when you run
MediaLab for the first time it will instruct you as to how to obtain a license for that
machine. Licensing is required for MediaLab to run and can usually be done the same
day.
Be sure to read the license agreement and
disclaimers during the set-up procedure. Also, be sure to read the readme.txt file for
notes regarding installation, set-up and system requirements. You can download the most
recent readme.txt file (above) before downloading MediaLab if you like.
Download mlab3.exe (11 Mb).

If you don't have Access 97:
In order to create and edit MediaLab
experiments, you must have Microsoft Access 97. If you do not have Access 97 installed,
and you do not want to purchase it (it comes with Office 97), then you can download the
following "run-time" version provided by Microsoft at no charge (yes, it's
completely legal). After unzipping the file, and running the set-up program, all the
functionality MediaLab needs will be available. You won't ever actually run Access by
itself, MediaLab will just use the files it needs.
*Workstations that will be used just for
running experiments and collecting data do not require Access. Access is required
only for creating and editing experiments.
*Check out the Access97 readme!.txt file for two critical setup notes. You might want to print this and have
it handy when installing access97.zip. The most important point is that a copy of the file
system.mdw should be located in the same folder as the file msaccess.exe.
